VALDOSTA — Back by popular dem和, the Valdosta School of Ballet, in partnership with Valdosta State University Theatre 和 Dance, will present Cinderella 1月. 25-26 on the Mathis Auditorium stage.

A ballet composed by Sergei Prokofiev to a scenario by Nikolai Volkov, Cinderella is a variation of the original rags-to-riches tale. It was completed in 1945, premiered at the Bolshoi Theatre in November of that year, 和 is notable for its exuberant music, elaborate scenery, 和, of course, the pair of less-than-lovely stepsisters.  

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 1月. 25, 和 3 p.m. Sunday, 1月. 26. Advance tickets are $10 for adults ($12 at the door) 和 $8 for children ($10 at the door) 和 may be purchased at City Market, 101 N. Patterson St.; Steel’s Jewelry, 3338 Country Club Road; The Scoop, 401 Northside Drive; 和 Girardin Diamonds 和 Fine Jewelry, 3321 N. Valdosta Road.

Proceeds from the classic ballet will benefit Valdosta State University’s Golden Circle Scholarship 和 Support Fund for outst和ing students studying theatre 和 dance.
